D.E.A.R.

Every day, announcing and reminding both educators and students that it was time to suspend all lessons and spend some leisure time reading a book was broadcast over its PA system. The D.E.A.R exercise lasted 15 minutes and was held at the end of the school day. The PA system played a jingle sound that changed over the week with different tracks from selected book themes such as Harry Potter. Weather allowing, some children from Years 1-6 held their D.E.A.R session outside on the turf by enjoying a reading picnic rather than staying in the classroom.
