Our Projects

The Lasallian educational mission provides transformative experiences that are innovative and holistic. It is much more than strong academics and scholastic success. The Lasallian education centres on Catholic values and personal relationships, emphasizing faith formation, inclusion, respect for the individual, and community service.

Participating in various projects such as Erasmus + and eTwinning is a way to provide such transformative experiences to the students in our care and at the same time integrate literacy and creativity into learning and assessment. Projects give an opportunity to all students to collaborate with others, learn new skills and develop essential/important/valuable competences which they will help them grown holistically.

Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is the EU Programme in the fields of education, training, youth and sport. It emphasises student and staff mobility and European cooperation involving higher education institutions and other key players in the knowledge-based economy. It supports increased mobility, to allow for innovation, growth and jobs in the European Union.

At De La Salle College Junior School has been participating for a number of years in the Erasmus+  as the topics are of interest not only for students and educators but also the public, specialists in various fields, science centres, enterprises, companies and leisure centres with whom we, as lasallians, collaborate with by seeking to exchange experiences and ideas to learn about other communities, countries and lifestyles.

Our Projects

Dinja Waħda

Dinja Waħda’s mission is to connect children with nature and trigger behavioural changes that will lead to future adults who will treat our planet better than we do today through engaging environmental education activities.

Despite the COVID-19 challenges, De La Salle College successfully engaged the students in the Dinja Waħda programme over the past scholastic year. Now, more than ever, it is important to encourage teachers to organise lessons outdoors for the well-being of their students.

Educators at De La Salle College Junior College believe that learning outside supports creativity and problem solving in students, enhances cognitive abilities, and improves academic performance. The benefit of connecting children of all ages to nature is conclusive—their social, psychological, academic and physical health is positively impacted when they have daily contact with nature. It also has myriad educational benefits for teaching and learning.
