Discussion on diversity in communication
It was the Grade 4s’ turn to discuss diversity in communication. We were delighted to welcome our Grade 2 student, Gabriel Papagiorcopulo, together with his mother and LSE, Ms Krystle Attard. They explained how they communicate with Gabriel using his AAC device, and students also had the opportunity to interact with Gabriel informally.
We also discussed the use of sign language by deaf people. Ms Melissa Aquilina shared her experience of communicating through sign language, together with the sign language interpreter, Ms Veronique Scicluna. To conclude, our students learnt some basic sign language by reciting the sentence, “We all communicate in different ways.”
It was truly a wonderful learning experience for us all, and we look forward to next Thursday to explore another aspect of diversity in communication.
