We started the Active Faith Club for this school year 2024-25 by commemorating the 800 year anniversary since Saint Francis, the poor of Assisi received the stigmata on the mountain La Verna while he was making a retreat in honor of the Archangel Saint Michael in preparation for his Feast. The five red candles represented the five marks that Saint Francis of Assisi received on his body. The students who attended were given a bookmark of this anniversary, saint of the Holy Face of the Miraculous Crucifix and of the statue of Saint Francis of Assisi, both venerated in the Church of Saint Mary of Jesus, Valletta. Thanks to the Guardian Brother George Micallef OFM Conv. of the Church of St. Francis Church, Republic Street, Valletta who lent us the painting with the image of Saint Francis of Assisi.
