Book Day
Year 3 boys had a truly magical memorable Book Day filled with stories, creativity, and imagination dressed in their cosy Pyjamas.
The adventure began as the children gathered together to listen to the exciting tale, The Great Jungle Treasure Adventure. The story followed a group of jungle animals who discovered that teamwork and friendship were the greatest treasures of all.
Inspired by the story, the boys brought it to life by animating their favourite scenes using jungle animal puppets. There were roaring lions, cheeky monkeys, tall giraffes, and zebras.
Next, the children took part in a creative craft session about jungle animals connected with the story.
The excitement continued as the boys worked together to build their own tents, turning the classroom into a cosy campsite. Blankets were draped, chairs were rearranged, and soon there were little reading hideaways ready for the next special activity.
It was time for D.E.A.R — Drop Everything and Read. For a few peaceful minutes, the room fell silent as each child became absorbed in their own book.
Later in the day, the class headed to the school hall for a special storytelling session about the good and bad habits of screen time.
To finish their wonderful day, the boys enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies. Warm drinks in hand, it was the perfect cosy ending.
