DLSJ-Activity-Adopt A Grandparent

The aim of this project is to enhance the collaboration between Zejtun Primary B, De La Salle College Junior School and the Spiritual Development in Schools Malta while instilling values of kindness and respect towards the elderly residing in Ghigo Home Ħal Għaxaq amongst our students. This will be done through the use of various digital tools such as Padlet, which will also consolidate literacy skills more specifically writing and reading.

This project gave an opportunity to our Year 3 students and educators at De La Salle College and Żejtun Primary B to collaborate together, build bridges between the two schools and get to know more about each other. Apart from this, during each session, our students became more aware of values related to kindness and respect towards the elderly residing in Ghigo Home in Ħal Għaxaq. The students also learned about the Maltese culture and traditions and how they changed along the years. The students had also the opportunity to meet and interview two local authors, namely, Trevor Zahra and Charles Buttigieg. At the end of the project one class from each school where invited to Ghigo Home where mass was celebrated and they ate something together. This was done keeping to Covid-19 protocols.
